Have you ever heard someone say “No-one knows what happens when we die”?
I have always wondered, How is that possible?
In order to truly know that know one knows what happens when we die, the person who says that they know that no-one knows what happens when we die, has to be able to see into the mind of every single person that has ever been in existence, and know that not one of them knew, or knows what happens when we die.
And how can a person who doesn’t know what happens when we die, know that no-one else knows? This makes no sense to me. I have no idea what other people know or don’t know. Really what the person should say is “I don’t know what happens when we die” and leave it at that, but often the next line to come is……..”no-one knows”.
What if you spent your whole life saying “no-one knows, no-one knows” and finally came to the last day of your life without any understanding at all about death, just an uncontrolled experience, with all it’s possibilities good and bad.
But what if there were some people alive today that do know what happens when you die, and could help you prepare for the experience? You would have no opportunity to know, because you have told your self known knows, with out even thinking about what it means to say no-one knows. You haven’t even asked yourself how you came up with that belief.
One of my best teachers is my own ability to ask, why or how?
Like windows, transparent and reflective. This world can be a vast and wondrous place of knowledge, and us living beings are such a curious bunch. It is strange to me that the one thing we know for sure is that we are going to die, yet, in general, we don’t like to talk about it much. Except to say that “no-one knows”.
I suspect those that do know are just waiting for us to get humble enough to say “I don’t know”, and then to ask “do you”?
